Font of the Day

FF Holmen is a book text family by Danish designer Per Baasch Jørgensen. Commissioned by a publishing house for a Hans Christian Andersen novel, the brief called for a "neoclassicist" typeface. Although inspired by the classical elegance of Bodoni and Didot, Jørgensen incorporated modern features for a contemporary appearance and improved readability. FF Holmen includes regular and bold weights with italics, small caps, and a titling version.

The new type id contest is up at Phil's. It may be a little harder this time. If now one gets it within a week I'll put up a new clue.

When I got in my car this afternoon the thermometer read 113 degrees fahrenheit. I don't think that's hot enough to melt fonts.

Phil’s Fonts typeface ID contest has been revived. Back in the 1990s we had a typeface ID contest every week. It’s simple: we show a portion of a typeface and you come up with the name. The first person to correctly identify the typeface receives a nifty GarageFonts t-shirt. We hope there is a winner each week. If not, we will provide a clue each week until we have a winner.
